Born Brenda Joan Sisson in Adamsboro, Indiana, Brenda was quite the tomboy growing up. She spent most of her early childhood working with her father caring for the animals on their farm & fishing in the nearby rivers. Although Brenda Jo had been involved in the local theater and music programs in Logansport, Indiana during her school years, it would be years later before she made her film debut. In the 1980's, Brenda Jo attended St. Paul Bible College (SPBC), in Minnesota, for 5 years studying in the Music Education & Church Music programs, always expecting her career to be in the field of music. She had been performing vocal music in public since grade school, and in the 4 years at Logansport High School, she was classically trained in private vocal lessons by Mr. Joseph Huffman. Her vocal training continued at SPBC under the tutelage of Mr. Leland Flickinger.Brenda has also been a member of a variety of musical groups including SPBC's Symphonic Band (clarinet) and Concert Choir (1st Sop), "Continental Singers & Orchestra" (1st Sop), "Dove" Contemporary Christian Band (Lead & keyboard) and "Bought & Paid For" Gospel Quartet (Alto), among others, as well as her church's Praise & Worship team. She has a near 4 octave vocal range.Although Brenda had acted in plays in high school, music had always been her career goal. However, when those doors seemed to be closed, she turned to a vocation that would pay the bills (USW), until an opportunity to participate in an ARTS Showcase in Chicago, Illinois, came up, thanks to Kim Myers & Scott Tucker, in 2009. Her dreams of performing were once again rekindled, with a passion. Soon after the Chicago Showcase, Brenda signed with the Helen Wells Agency, Indianapolis, Indiana.Within 2 years of this Chicago event, Brenda Jo's performance opportunities grew, including live theater performances of "Oliver", "Pajama Game", "The King & I", "Hometown Holidays: A Cool Yule", Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", "It's A Wonderful Life", "Stage Door" and "The Sound of Music".But Brenda Jo has also participated in several film, commercial & television opportunities, starting with "This Promise I Made" (2012), "From Ashes" (2012), "Home Front" (2013) and two episodes of Nat Geo's, "How To Survive The End Of The World". She is also in pre-production or production on several other projects. Her first movie poster billing came from her role as the kidnapper's mother in, "Vanished".Brenda Jo has also had numerous occasions to expand her repertoire of experience in the film industry, as she is adding to her list of still photography credits.Brenda Jo is looking forward with great anticipation to her future in the Arts, both on stage & on the silver & television screens.
