Billy was born in Portsmouth Virginia, the 2nd son of John Cobb and Eula Cobb (née Butler). As his father was serving in the US army his family traveled quite extensively during his very early years. By the time Billy was a teenager his parents had divorced and he and his older brother lived with their mother in the Chesapeake area of Virginia where he attended Indian River High School. It was while in high school that Billy began to pursue an acting career although he began his dreams of acting at the age of 7 while watching the film Too Young To Kiss being broadcast on the Saturday Afternoon Movie on television. Billy's first true stage debut was in the play The Ritz in the role of Duff at the Little Theater of Norfolk. From that first round of applause he received at curtain Billy's passion was ignited and the path was laid out before him as to his destiny. It's not widely known, but in order to get cast in The Ritz Billy lied about his age stating he was 3 years older than he actually was- he did this due to the adult nature of the play. Show less «
