Born in Pittsburgh, Billy Jenkins grew up as one of four children to Barbara Jenkins a teacher and former Catholic Nun, and Lawrence Jenkins a rehabilitation counselor and former Marine. Needless to say his upbringing had its share of structure. Billy enlisted in the Marines at seventeen and spent the next four years serving his country in Italy and North Carolina. After returning home from active duty he enlisted in the Marine Reserve and began his college career at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a B.A. in Film Studies. Billy also became a City of Pittsburgh Firefighter. Billy started modeling at the behest of his twin sister and from there began acting. After numerous print and television ads Billy had his first principal role in Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks. Show less «
