At the age of 15, while recording a radio commercial for one of his concerts, Bill realized an interest in broadcasting after a local radio station offered him a job as an announcer. From there he moved into management, marketing and sales at radio and television stations in New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Tennessee and Missouri. During his broadcasting career he also served as Chief News Anchor and investigative reporter for a CBS television affiliate in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was a Disc Jockey at the legendary KXOL Radio in Ft. Worth, Texas. Recently, Bill spent 6 months in Ghana, West Africa where he launched three state-of-the-art FM Radio Stations for StarCom Broadcasting. His most recent radio "gig" was at KRZK AM/FM in Branson, MO where he was a mid-day personality for several years.By the age of 16 Bill had also become interested in theatre. A sample of musical and theatrical productions in which he has played principle roles are Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun, Man of La Mancha, The Music Man, South Pacific and Fiddler on the Roof and the award winning musical The Promise.From 1971 through 2010 he performed with his brother Randy in the musical group known as The Brooks Brothers. Bill and Randy have received international exposure through television and live concerts, and in 1980 became the official production group for American Airlines. During the 1980's, The Brooks Brothers produced over 700 shows/events for the airline worldwide. The Brooks Brothers have had three top 40 hits in gospel and country music and recorded 25 albums. Throughout their successful career, Bill has managed the business affairs of the group.For 9 years he was seen in The Promise as "Peter" and Narrator." During a span of six consecutive years Bill was voted Entertainer of the Year in Texas by the Country Music Revue Association. It was there that Bill taught his signature arrangement of the gospel song, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" to 8 year old Leann Rimes, which she later recorded on her top selling inspirational CD. Her recording of this song was nominated for the Dove Award in 1998. It was on the Country Music Revue Stage where Rimes began performing along with The Brooks Brothers and honed her talents.From 1990 through 1994, Bill was Director of Marketing for Kingdom Development Company where he was responsible for the development and implementation of all sales, marketing and box office activity for the start up of The Promise, a spectacular musical performed in the Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose, Texas.Beginning in 1989, and for the next six years Bill also worked for the legendary Bob Hope as Producer of Charity Events. These events featured such stars as Garth Brooks, Ronnie Milsap and Barbara Mandrell. In addition, Bill coordinated with American Airlines to produce 3-day pro/am golfing events for Mr. Hope. In 1994 Bill was Master of Ceremonies during preliminary judging of the Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas where he also performed each night. He shared MC duties with Dick Clark during the worldwide telecast of the final judging of that event. Bill also served as Host of the Grand Millennium Celebration at the Grand Palace in Branson along with over 100 performers including the legendary Osmond Family.From 1995 through 2002 Brooks served as CEO/Executive Director of Promise Entertainment Group, L.L.C., producing the award winning musical The Promise in Branson, Missouri. He also served a three-year tenure as President of the Branson Theatre Association. Additionally, he served a three-year tenure on the Board of Directors of the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.In 2004, he was Project Director in charge of the largest musical theatrical production in history as The Promise was presented in the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. Bill is currently the Producer of a musical on the life of Jesus called "His Life - The Musical". This award winning musical has recently played before capacity audiences in Tanzania, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Malaysia, Columbia, China and the famed Apollo Theater in New York City.Bill is a 40+ year veteran as a Voice Artist and provides voice over services to clients all over the world from his recording studio located in the Dallas Communications Complex in Irving, Texas. Bill is currently a Voice Technique Coach/Mentor who coaches aspiring "Voice Artists". He also is a producer of voice artists demo's. Bill spends much of his time narrating/producing audiobooks that are available on Audible.com, Amazon.com and ITunes.com. He appears regularly in theatrical stage productions in the DFW area and is currently serving in his second year as President of the Executive Board at Artisan Center Theater in Hurst, TX.After 40 years as a performer and recording artist, Bill recently released his first solo CD entitled "You Can Come Home" featuring 10 songs of hope, forgiveness, restoration and gratefulness. Specializing in "country gospel" music, Bill is equally comfortable in presenting his "Concert of Hope" in traditional, contemporary and the rapidly growing number of "Cowboy Churches" in the United States.
