Betty Jean was a college graduate who won twenty beauty pageants in and around the Southern California area while studying for her degree in Police Science. Betty chose between a career in Law Enforcement or the Entertainment Industry. She chose the latter and soon began a very lengthy career in Hollywood. Betty was employed by Hugh Hefner from 1973 - 1979, as a Playboy Bunny. Betty performed in a dozen starring roles on stage in Los Angeles. Betty was also a student of performance theater, with over eight years of extensive theatrical training with leading instructors, coaches and workshops in the business. Included also were extensive voice and dance training by the best in the industry. Betty also worked as a professional model and was featured in many national advertising campaigns throughout her career. Betty has shared the "small screen" with the likes of George Burns, Johnny Carson, Flip Wilson and Freddie Prinze, as well as appearances on Charlie's Angels, Fantasy Island and other television shows of the day. Not only did Betty model and act, she danced and sang as well. Betty was featured in several movies, although she had small roles and never had a major breakthrough. Sadly, Betty succumbed to a debilitating mental disorder: Paranoid-schizophrenia, by the mid-90's. Although her career was quite lengthy, Betty still only needs two more screen credits to be eligible for her Screen Actors Guild retirement pension. Betty has maintained her SAG/AFTRA membership to this day. Show less «
