In 1980, Benoit moved to Montreal. Benoit was 18 years old at that time. Within three years, Benoit a position as an assistant window display and had presented him the most important people in the fashion community of Montreal such as Dick Walsh, Denis Desrosiers, Gilles Gagne, Jean Blais, Pier Tetro, Jean Guerain, and many others. Benoit became very popular in the industry and soon he became the top model of the time in Montreal (1980s). He was photographed by many photographers and pictures were printed in different magazines as 'Coup DE Peigne', 'The Gazette', 'Le Journal Du Quebec'. In his display career, Benoit learned how to build props and display them in front store windows. His involvement with acting never stopped. He studied acting with Actor Studio in Montreal and Equity Showcase Theater in Toronto. His first movie was L'hôtel New Hampshire (1984) in Montreal. In his next move to Toronto, he found an agent "Nexus Personal Management" and pursue an acting career from 1986 till 1996, then moved to Hollywood, California. In Hollywood, he went to study set design at University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater class 2005. In all time, Benoit performed little but occasionally was asked for a small appearance in school plays. In 2003, 'Oxygen Network' filmed him in "Girl Behaving Badly' (2003) a reality show with candid camera. Among his work in acting, voice overs, industrial videos, double, stand-in,and TV commercial are among listed work in his resume.
