Benito Miguel Selim was born May 7, 1979 in Vallejo, California. At an early age, he became fascinated with movies and all aspects of them; from story to even casting. As a kid he would write out short plays and have his friends and family act them out. After graduating from Vallejo high school in 1998, Selim enrolled at Solano College in Suisun, California with an interest in film studies. It was there he began working with others who shared the same interests and passion for filmmaking. He would also learn more about production and crew work, editing and shooting his first short film.In 2004 Selim transferred to Academy of Art University in San Francisco to major in Motion Pictures and Television. At the Academy, Selim worked with industry professionals, shooting projects weekly. After a year or two, Selim became more focused on the film process and storyline development and focused his attention on screen writing and acting. Taking the advice of an acting teacher, Selim signed with a local casting agency.Selim began landing roles on several films and Television shows including Oscar winning film "Milk" (2008) and Oscar nominated film "Moneyball" (2011). Selim continues to look for more roles especially those that can challenge him as an artist. In 2011, Selim became the first person in his family to graduate from college, receiving his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Motion Pictures and Television.Future plans include relocating to Los Angeles soon for more opportunity and growth, as an industry professional as both an actor and writer.
