Barrie trained at The Oldham Theatre Workshop, and studied Acting and Musical Theatre at the University Of Hertfordshire where he gained a degree in Performing Arts.As well as being an Actor for TV, Film and Theatre, Barrie set up English Rice productions were set up in 2010. The aim was to create comedy driven content for the stage that incorporated physical theatre, dance and music whilst focusing on simple human behaviours and relationships. Barrie is the current joint managing director of English Rice Productions and was the Artistic Director at The Liverpool Actors Studio Theatre for 3 Years. He has worked in both development and acting projects with various writers, producers and directors in TV, Film, Radio and Theatre including: North West Playwrights, Chorlton FM, Contact Theatre- Manchester, Joyce Branagh, Oldham Coliseum, Mick Martin, Quickfoot Media, Phil McIntyre Productions, Peter Kay, Misfit Films, ITV Yorkshire, ITV Granada, Lime Pictures, Red Bee Media, BBC, Red Productions, Freedom Studios, The Gate Films, Fuzzy Duck creative, Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and The Light.Barrie has recently completed his MA in TV & Film Scriptwriting at Salford University Media City. He has written numerous television pilot scripts and a feature film.
