Azizah Rowen (sometimes credited Azizah Hodges; Azizah Hayes Rowen) - Television credits include HBO's "How to Make it In America." Azizah grew up in Marin County, and made her stage debut in the musical "Annie" at age seven. Azizah continued doing plays and musicals and at age ten was cast as Princess Kukachin in the main stage production of "Marco's Millions" at the American Conservatory Theatre (San Francisco). Two years later, Azizah was again cast in the main stage production of "Right Mind" at the American Conservatory Theatre, and was in the middle of the run when the 1989 earthquake demolished the main stage Geary Theatre. It has since been rebuilt. She made her film debut as the lead character in the feature film "Magic Boat" directed by Martin Higgins (1990). Azizah graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in theatre, where she was nominated for the Ava Greenwald award, and later continued her studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. A founding member of the reputable Workshop 360 theatre company (Los Angeles), Azizah was last seen in 360's production of "Hecuba" as Polyxena. Other notable stage credits include: "Betty's Summer Vacation" (360, LA Premiere) "Vinegar Tom" (360, Electric Lodge), "Right Mind" (A.C.T.), "Utterances" directed by the late Joe Chaikin (A.C.T.), "Romeo and Juliet" (RADA, London), "Putting Out Fires" (Magic Theatre directed by Joe Chaikin) "Time Is On Your Side", a winner of the Young Playwrights Festival (Blank Theatre Company) "Versus" (Rattlestick, NYC), "Mullettfingers" (Rattlestick, NYC) and "Sex On The Page" (Bay Street Theater, Sag Harbor). Azizah has also studied at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, The Groundlings in Los Angeles, The Imagined Life in Los Angeles, RADA in London, The Barrow Group in New York and the Atlantic Acting School in New York. She is a proud member of SAG/AEA, a recent member of NYWIFT (New York Women in Film and Television) and splits her time between New York and Los Angeles. She is also a singer'songwriter and guitar player and her song "Parallel Lives" was featured on the ABC family show "Switched at Birth." She is represented by Judy Boals Agency in NYC, New York.
