Aubrey Lee Culp was born in Holly Springs Mississippi to the parents of Vertel Culp Sr. and Evelenea Culp. He moved to Memphis Tennessee at the age of five. He was an exuberant child who would perfect impersonations of people around the neighborhood and his favorite television characters. He would constantly push the limits, whether it was playing sports or performing the craziest stunts with his eldest brother Vertel Culp Jr. He attended Wooddale high school and graduated in 1977. He spent over 4 years in the U.S. Navy on the Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea, where he worked as an Aviation Electronic Technician/Flight Deck Troubleshooter. The experience working on the Aircraft Carrier was exciting and full on adrenaline for him. He moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1984 after his military stint where he met his rock, his wife Janis. They have three children together. He got his first shot at performing stunts in 1994 on the T.V. Series M.A.N.T.I.S., when he met stunt coordinator J.J. Makaro. J.J. introduced him to stuntmen Fred Perron and Yves Cameron who trained him to be an Air Ram Specialist. It was such a rush to be able to fly through the air effortlessly. After a nine year career performing stunts he was grounded with foot problems, but he really misses the adrenaline rush that performing stunts gave him. Aubrey has been retired from stunts since late 2001 and recently he's back, focusing his career on the acting side of the business.
