Ashley Mortimer is a former director of The Centre For Pagan Studies, a former trustee of the Doreen Valiente Foundation and a prominent member of the international pagan community often appearing as a spokesman for paganism in the media.Ashley is also an initiate of the old religion, the Wica, the tradition of British Witchcraft, tracing his initiatory lineage back to Gerald Gardner but he has led an eclectic life journey to find his spirituality crossing several traditions and paths. He is an occasional writer, even more occasional musician and a prolific contributor to many different Pagan events and interests. He speaks and lectures on the origins of Paganism, the history of Wicca/Witchcraft and approaches religious ceremony and ritual with a pragmatic approach to spirituality underpinned with warm (but sometimes groan-worthy!) humour.
