Although born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1949, Arthur Lightbody grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has a B.A. in Sociology from Hamline University, and M.A.s from the University of St. Thomas and Bethel Theological Seminary.Lightbody was a language researcher, Bible translator and public relations professional with a mission agency. Recently, before engaging in his film career, he performed one-man shows portraying early English Bible translators John Wycliffe and William Tyndale as well as American historical figures Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln. Additionally, he engaged in local theaters, picking up on a love from college days.Lightbody's rich occupational history that includes travel in more than 30 countries, and extensive writing and radio program interviews, provides him with many backstories. And so, his has been a life of moving from investigating and understanding other cultures and individual stories to wanting to share such meaningful stories in film.Since his retirement from his previous occupations, Lightbody has been involved in thirteen film and two television projects.
