Antonio Merlano is an actor, writer and film producer with 10 years of experience in the film industry. He graduated from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City and the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. In 2006, Antonio returned to his native country, Colombia, and founded Verasur Films. Soon after, he wrote, produced and starred in La milagrosa, a feature film about the Guerilla conflict and kidnapping in Colombia. La milagrosa became one of the most successful pictures in Colombian history, playing in more than 40 countries and earning him the recognition of the Colombian Congress. In 2010 he wrote, produced and starred in the feature film Balls, a comedy about an international street soccer tournament, set to be released in Colombia and Mexico in late 2013. Antonio is in post production of his opera primal, The night, a found footage horror film written and directed by him. For his next project, Merlano has been working alongside Marvel comics writer and artist, David Sexton on developing an epic fantasy film called Mawak, the untold story of the conquest of the Americas.
