Anthony Straeger is An Englishman hailing from what's often referred to as Gods County - Yorkshire. He grew up in the industrial town of Bradford at a time when men were men and sheep were nervous! He completed his education by graduating from York University. After this, he joined the rock band ExCel and set off touring around the UK and Europe. The band folded in 1982. This saw a new chapter start as he moved to London to pursue his acting career. He featured in several theatre tours around the UK and Germany. After working on a BBC Children's TV series, he formed his own production company Quid In Shrapnel. The company produced several documentaries and films over the next ten years. The company dissolved when he moved to Berlin in 2005. After relocating to Germany, he focused more on his writing. He developed many scripts and published a series of articles. His first book publication came in 2016. It was on the subject of time management - Something that has amused, confused and helped him over the years.Having submitted to many festivals over the years, in 2017 he co-founded Germany's first sci-fi film festival - Berlin Sci-fi Filmfest. Shortly after, he became associated with the Haunted House FearFest (UK). Both festivals thrived up to the pandemic, which had its cause and effect on both. 2022 saw the festivals start a new phase of development. The festivals inspired him to write his second book aimed at helping independent filmmakers. 'An Independent Filmmakers Guide to Preparing and Submitting to Film Festivals' was released in 2020. He has continued with his writing and acting career throughout this time. Show less «
