Angeliki Giannakopoulos has just finished production of the documentary "My Child: Mothers Of War" about mothers whose children are soldiers in Iraq. She has worked as an associate producer at NBC On-Air Promotion, producing promos for all of the network's prime time shows, including Friends, Frasier, Will and Grace, The West Wing, Law and Order and many others. Her documentary "A Greek Woman" was an Official Entry at Cinequest 2003, where it premiered and screened to a sold out audience.It was also an Official Entry of ARPA International Film Festival 2003, the NY Greek Cultural Center Indie Film Festival, and the New Orleans Media Experience 2003.In 2001 she again went the festival route with a documentary that she produced and co-directed, "Age of Elegance," which was executive produced by Chris Moore (producer of American Pie and Good Will Hunting), Jeff Bailys and directed by Cooper Layne (executive producer of The Emperor's Club and The Core (starring Hilary Swank), and The Fog). "Age of Elegance" was also was an Official Entry at Cinequest 2001.She worked for six years as an Associate Producer for Pelorous Pictures, a commercial production company, on spots such as "Air Walk," "Nike," "Coke," "Oscar Mayer," and "Weight Watchers." She produced a pilot for TV "What's Hot What's Not" based on multimedia news. She was a production assistant on an industrial spot for Sony Pictures, made for Siggraph '98 and for the feature "Mojave Moon" starring Angelina Jolie, Danny Aiello and Michael Biehn. In 1996 she was the USA casting director on "Give Me the Head of Maives Davies" a British feature film staring Danny Aiello and Rick Mayo, produced by The Mission Pictures. She also worked as a production coordinator for all USA locations on a documentary made for the BBC, "The Running Man".Ms. Giannakopoulos started as an actress. Personally trained by Milton Katselas and Susan Strasberg, she excelled in many theatrical productions both in the U.S. and Europe. In 1994 she established Artemis Productions, and the Greek-American Theater Company Of Los Angeles and went on to produce and direct over 15 productions. Some of her best work includes "Ten Stabs for Ten Bullets" at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, "The Marriage" at the Gascon Theater (which won seven Drama-Log Awards, including Best Direction), "Illya Darling" at the Skylight Theater and the 24th Street Theater (which won three Drama-Log Awards), "Antigone" and "Gregory Gregory" also at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.Playwright credits include: "Ten Stabs for Ten Bullets" and "A Greek Wedding".
