Angela Iranna Perkins is an American actress from Kansas City, Kansas (although raised in Southern California in the cities of Paramount and Moreno Valley). Perkins has made an appearance in Grammy-award winning music video "This is America" by Childish Gambino. She has also participated in stage work such as portraying a historical figure in groundbreaking stage play "Harlem South".Perkins continued to explore her on-screen strength by taking on "Maria" in the film adaptation of Shakespeare's , "Love's Labour's Lost"; a great cinematic work done by filmmaker Nicholas Musleh that served as an ode to female power. This is where Perkins made her introduction onto the screen as the bad-ass, sure-of-herself underdog character that everyone roots for and from Musleh's film is where the beginning carvings to a pathway that would soon solidify Perkins' narrative essence begins. When Perkins is not saving the world and kicking ass on-screen or bringing a whole room to tears while on-stage, she can be found in her room writing away on such short stories like "Saving Daniel", which landed as a semi-finalist in 2019 Screencraft Short Screenplay Contest.Perkins is on a mission to bring more powerful female voices to the screen and stage not only through her personal instrument (her body & voice) but through fellow women of color as well.
