Andree is an actress and self-taught screenwriter who started her journey as an avid playwright and director. She has won multiple awards for films on the film festival circuit. She is a native Washingtonian and has overcome many obstacles. As a child, she used the arts as a way to escape the trauma. She would easily get lost in the life of someone on screen or a character in a book. While being temporarily disabled she was forced to continue the literary works that she began prior to her accident. In 2010 she wrote her first successful stage play. in 2015, she caught the acting bug after a cast member bailed out and it was too late to re-cast a lead role in one of her stage plays. . Andree took that debut role by storm thus opening the doors to more roles. In 2016, she was introduced to TV and Film. Understanding that there was a big difference between theater and TV/Film, she honed in on her craft and began taking lessons, watching videos and following actors such as Viola Davis, Lynn Whitfield, Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad, Loretta Divine and many more. Although shy by nature, she bursts with enthusiasm when it comes to stage and film. She challenged herself to write, produce and direct several films, all of which she found joy in doing. She believes that storytelling brings about healing.She takes her craft seriously while continuing to make investments in herself. Acting is her first love. She has truly learned the meaning of "validate yourself". She takes pleasure in collaborating with other creators on various levels. Andree launched a small production company in VA where she assists indie and aspiring filmmakers, actors, and directors with writing, casting and network resources within the film industry.She believes that it is never too late to live out your dreams and she desires to bring forth every ounce of herself, taking nothing for granted.One of her sayings is " The World of Art is a huge domain, yet, there is room for everyone; when the right moment comes, Grab It...."Andree always wanted a big family, so she gave birth to two children, adopted 8 of which 4 are is her great-nephew and nieces, all of whom she is raising as her children. A few of the children have had complex care issues and she has lost many jobs because of her "Family First" values.When she is not working in the arts, she is enjoying her children and supporting the Just 4 Us Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, founded in 2009 who's mission is to improve and impact the quality of life for children with special needs, at-risk youth and families. They also have a full sound stage that is geared to support up and coming as well as seasoned filmmakers.
