Amir Levy Born and raised in Israel, Amir has received numerous awards from the America- Israel Cultural Foundation and was declared a Distinguished Artist by The Israeli Ministry of Education. Amir will be seen in the upcoming french feature film Big House starring Gerard Depardieu (Jean-Emmanuel Godart, Dir) and the romantic comedy feature film, Taking The Stand (Priority Films) where he is also a co-producer. He starred in a new web series, Expensive Dreams, to be launched next year (Shantel Duah, Dir) Other television/film credits include the FX hit show Louie, Sex and the City and numerous short films, industrials and commercials. Amir has been a company member with leading international dance companies including the Bat-Dor Dance Company, Ballet Hispanico of New-York and, for the last decade, he was the dance captain with the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center. With the Metropolitan Opera, Amir has been seen in over 50 productions, including many via the Met HD Live broadcast series seen in movie theaters across the globe. He has worked at the Met with some of today's leading directors including Anthony Minghella (Madama Butterfy), Julie Taymor (Magic Flute), Mary Zimmerman (Lucia di Lammermoor), Francesca Zambello (Cyrano), Michael Grandage (Don Giovanni), Des McAnuff (Faust) and Francois Girard (Parsifal). Additionally, Amir has worked closely with some of the opera world's most famous singers including Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Jonas Kaufmann, Natalie Dessay and Anna Netrebko. Apart from appearing on stage, he has been an associate choreographer to Sara Erde and Richard Eyre on critically acclaimed productions of Werther (Met), Manon Lescaut (Baden-Baden) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Met Season Opening Production 2014). Major musical theatre credits include the first national tours of Victor/Victoria and the Hal Prince Evita. Amir recently starred in the play Bellini & The Sultan at the 2013 FringeNYC. ___
