Amanda Lauer began her career as a proofreader in 1981. In 1999 she expanded into copy editing and journalism and has had more than 1,350 articles published throughout the U.S. Her first novel, A World Such as Heaven Intended, was published Oct. 29, 2014, and received the 2016 YA CALA award. That novel is in the initial stages of being produced as a feature film. The second book in the trilogy, A Life Such as Heaven Intended, will be published April 2, 2018.Lauer has two decades experience as an actor in community theater and commercials, was a supporting actress in the indie film Broken, and had a non-credited role in the movie Public Enemies. She is the co-writer of the movie The Islands, which will be released Nov. 9, 2018.
