Amanda Ashley Canty was born on December 24th, 1986. She grew up in Enfield, Connecticut, a sleepy town filled with rustic barns, tobacco fields, and the smell of sweet grass in the air. As a child she loved to wander through the woods and enact stories as they played out in her mind.Amanda graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in 2005. She went on to study theatre at Playhouse West Repertory Theater in Los Angeles, CA. While there, she performed in Tony Savant's Welcome Home Solider.Amanda graduated from Playhouse West Repertory Theater in 2014 after studying the Meisner Technique for three years. While living in Los Angeles, Amanda secured several film roles from 2011 to 2013 including list Hourglass (2013) and Richard Peter Johnson (2013). Amanda is also known for her film roles as Operator Willis in Mila Dear to All (2012) and Isadora in Perception (2012).In 2015, Amanda joined Flying H Theatre Group after moving to Ojai, CA. She performed Kid #2 in Honky (Directed by Larry Swerdlove) completing three performances a night for a total of 15 runs. Amanda played the role of Nurse Simone Lemar in "The Boy Who Could Fly" of Sky Craft Studio Productions 2015. She is also played the role of Anna Marshall in "Faith Please Find Me". Some of Amanda's theatre engagements include the productions Seldom Is Heard and We'll Always Have Memphis at the Santa Paula Theater Center. As well as Breach at The Elite Theater Company (2015).
