Alejandro de Hoyos Parera, also credited as Alejandro de Hoyos, was born in Mexico City. He began his acting career at a young age, appearing in several TV ads for some of Mexico's biggest brands. In 2009, he was cast as Friedrich Von Trapp in the Mexican production of The Sound of Music, starring Broadway icon Bianca Marroquín; the show ran successfully for a year at the Teatro de los Insurgentes, in Mexico City. In 2013, he's awarded a full scholarship to study at the British American Drama Academy's MCP, in England.His performance as Alberto Martínez, a young seminarian who is sexually abused by a priest, in Luis Urquiza's "Perfect Obedience", marked his film debut and placed him as an acting promise; the film won the Ariel Award in 2015 for Best Adapted Screenplay.On TV, he's played a wide range of characters that have given him recognition among the Mexican audience. In 2017, he played Samuel Rueda, a teenager who develops an unhealthy obsession with and older woman, in the hit show "Caer En Tentación"; his performance was praised by the critics and became one of the favorites of the viewers.As of 2018, he's one of the six leads in the theater adaptation of "The Dead Poets Society". The play stars Alfonso Herrera (Sense8, The Exorcist), as John Keating, and was directed by Francisco Franco. It runs at the Teatro Libanés, in Mexico City.
