An award winning professional actor for over 20 years, Alan became focused on broadening his second love painting. In 2003 he was accepted into the prestigious fine art school The Victorian College of the Arts where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) in 2006 .As with his filmmaking hero Stanley Kubrick also a visual artist (originally a photographer) Alan found himself gravitating toward the medium of Filmmaking. His fine art skills combined with performance experience in front of the camera have enabled Alan the ability to craft a distinct and unique voice as an emerging filmmaker.To date Alan has directed, written, produced and starred in four short films: The Winking Boy (2011), Goldfield (2013) , The Correspondent (2015) and the upcoming A Way Back (2016). In 2014 Alan started up his own production company White Cube Picture Lab with a mission to create intimate, avant guard storytelling for the screen.Alan's films have been honored with numerous accolades world-wide, including Jury Award / Best Screenplay / 2011 Las Vegas International Film Festival (The Winking Boy), Gold Remi Award / Dramatic Shorts / 2014 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival (Goldfield) and Jury Award / Best Horror / 2014 FMK Pordenone International Short Film Festival (Goldfield).
