Aaron Schwartz has enjoyed a successful career as a professional actor, writer, and director. He wrote for CBC's King of Kensington and played a regular character (Leslie Rappaport) in the sitcom Check It Out!, starring Don Adams for its full 3 seasons. In addition to his extensive acting credits on stage across Canada and the U.S., he has appeared in many television shows (Alfred Hitchcock, Street Legal, Night Heat) and feature films, including Suspect (with Cher and Liam Neeson), Eleni (with John Malkovich) and Canadian films including the award-winning Outside Chance of Maximilian Glick. Aaron was artistic director and producer of a Toronto theatre company and was nominated for a Dora award for Best Director for his production of Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean. He worked as a dramaturge, helping develop Canadian scripts and playwrights. He taught acting, voice and directing and has been a guest artist at theatres and universities across the U.S. and Canada. Aaron has served on the board of directors of the Canadian Actors' Equity Association, Theatre Ontario, the Factory Theatre, and the Performing Arts Lodges of Canada. Born in Saskatchewan, he grew up in Winnipeg and California. He has a B.A. from Swarthmore College, Pa., an MFA from Columbia University in New York, and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School.
