With his accusations and ouster, Veronica is dropped from the popular group. She suffers several indignities at the hands of those who once professed to be her friends.Veronica works with her dad in his private investigation service and proves to be a valuable asset with the ability to think quickly on her feet, suss out facts and photos, and her observational powers about human nature. In addition to the work she does for her father, Veronica also works cases for people at school. Although she is no longer popular, her classmates do recognize her PI abilities.Veronica attempts to juggle the trials and tribulations of being an outcast at school with her afterschool detective work and her own conflicting teenage emotions, compounded by the fact that her mother left her and her father during the scandal. She is often forced to negotiate a tricky line between the rich elite, known as the 09-ers, referring to their ritzy zip code, and the scrappy high school motorcycle gang the PCH-ers.
