Born in New Orleans, American actor/dancer Shane LeCocq is the very definition of a versatile performer. His all-American, boy-next-door looks, as well as his ultra nice guy demeanor, has often had led him to be tagged as a modern day Van Johnson. But many of his comedic roles have taken on more of the brilliant arrogant, douche-baggy style of Christopher McDonald or Kyle Chandler. Because of his southern upbringing, and his dance career starting with teaching through the Arthur Murray Dance Studio franchise, there is also a natural lending toward Patrick Swayze.Shane has been performing for over 25 years on stage, screen, and radio as an actor, dancer, choreographer, director, writer, voiceover artist and stage combat fight captain. He holds a BFA in theater/film from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied at the Atlantic Theater Company and Stonestreet Studios under the tutelage of Playwright/Director David Mamet, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Josh Pais, and Bob Krakower. He is an extremely talented fight choreographer having been mentored by both Rick Sordelet and J. David Brimmer. He has been in well over 100 projects (many times as Lead or Co-Lead) running the gamut of comedy-farce to tragedy-melodrama and tirelessly continues to learn the business of show while seeking out the best teachers/coaches in the country to sharpen the skills of his craft.Foregoing the cliche' of waiting tables or bar-tending, Shane instead found teaching ballroom/Latin dancing when he was only 20 years old. Since then, he has become is a fully accredited Ballroom/Latin/Swing dance instructor and choreographer, certified through Arthur Murray Dance Studios, Fred Astaire Dance Studios, and Dancevision, Inc. and is a proud certified Licentiate Member of the Imperial Society of the Teachers of Dance (widely regarded as THE single most prestigious ballroom/Latin dance organization in the world)His co-lead work in the film "Helena" was featured as official selections in numerous film festivals around the country including Los Angeles CineFest, Broken Knuckle Film Festival, The Artemis Women in Action Film Festival, Largo Film Awards (Best Sound/Music Nomination), and the Lake Charles Film & Music Festival. His co-lead work as the manipulative character of Lance in the film "Five Star Dinner Club" garnered high praise at the LA Film Prize Festival, as did the movie as a festival finalist. In his spare time, Shane likes to perform card magic and play chess.
