Crotty has also built up considerable experience at Super level, reaching a century of matches in 2016. His first try for the All Blacks cemented his place in rugby folklore, scoring the match-winning five pointer in the final minutes of the 2013 Test against Ireland in Dublin, which secured an unbeaten record for the All Blacks that year. He has played for the Barbarians and has also played Tests against France, Scotland and Wales. Crotty's mother Robyn is a former New Zealand waterpolo representative and his father Steve played rugby for Nelson Bays.
