Robin Sewell can now add business woman and owner to her resume. She started Lonetree Productions in 2003, and in a little more than a year has managed to do what no one else has done before, acquire the broadcast rights to the internationally known Arizona Highways Magazine and create the first locally produced statewide syndicated show, Arizona Highways. Shot in high definition and broadcast in both English and Spanish, the television show, now in its second season, is number one in the ratings, regularly beating nationally syndicated shows. Sewell is already shopping the series to national and International audience.Meanwhile Lonetree Productions, has already expanded into a full service film and television production company, producing commercials for several high profile corporations, marketing videos, DVD's and other television projects.According to Sewell, "Passion, perseverance and believing that the `impossible dream is possible' has driven me towards careers where the rewards are great, but the odds always seems stacked against you."Robin Sewell graduated from UCLA with a degree in Theater Arts and pursued a career in the entertainment industry before switching gears and becoming a television newscaster. Her life as a journalist kept her hop scotching around the country from Florida, to San Diego, Seattle, Sacramento and eventually to Phoenix, where for seven years, she was the main anchor at the ABC affiliate. In the course of her journey, this acclaimed anchor, reporter and television host has interviewed presidents, entertainers, sports stars and has covered everything from hurricanes, earthquakes, and national elections. Along the way she has been nominated for two Emmy awards for reporting skills.Robin, who has made Phoenix her home for close to ten years. believes strongly in the community and giving back, which is why she is actively involved in a myriad of valley charities including Phoenix Theatre, Phoenix Suns Charities, Trends Charitable Fund, St. Joseph's Hospital and Barrow Neurological Foundation.
