Rob Koebel is an award-winning journalist, actor, writer, host and voice over artist. His journalism work has earned him Emmy's, Associated Press and an Edward R Murrow award. His career as a journalist spans nearly two decades. Rob covered Presidential elections from the campaign trail; tracked one of the FBI's most-wanted killers in a huge manhunt through rural Arizona; exposed corruption in the government at state, local and federal levels; and busted a nationwide sports memorabilia company selling fake autographs in stadium team shops across the country. He started in 1995 as the 11 p.m. news anchor and reporter at the CBS affiliate in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Rob gave viewers a rare glimpse inside the normally off-limits FBI training center at Quantico, training side-by-side with future agents to show what it takes to become one. That story and his anchoring skills caught the eye of a news director at the #1 rated NBC affiliate in Boise, Idaho and he was hired to anchor and report. He quickly scored exclusive interviews and stories. He traveled to Miami following Julianne Prudhomme, a four-year-old girl from Boise who underwent a life-saving five-organ transplant. He cornered one of Idaho most infamous residents, former Los Angeles Police Detective Mark Fuhrman of the OJ Simpson trial. A year later, a news director in one of the top fifteen markets in the nation hired Koebel away. Phoenix was a challenge. That first week, Rob was whisked away by helicopter to a massive rescue search for nineteen hikers who had been washed away during a flash flood. That same month he brought viewers a sad moment in the nation's history, the funeral of former Senator and Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. In a live report with Rob, former Vice President Dan Quayle relived Goldwater's impact on the country. While in Phoenix - Rob worked at KSAZ-TV, KTVK-TV and KNXV-TV both anchoring and reporting. During those years he scored many exclusive interviews - when former heavy weight boxing champ Mike Tyson was being investigated for rape - he trusted Rob to tell his side of the story. Not pulling any punches - Koebel asked him point blank in the interview if he did it. For three weeks he reported on America's longest hostage prison stand off. He also spent weeks on end reporting from the front lines of Arizona's largest wildfire. While at the Fox Station in Phoenix, Rob reported not only for his station but the network and affiliates across the country covering each one of Robbie Knievel's death defying motorcycle jumps -including the legendary Grand Canyon and Vegas roof to roof top jump.In a twist of fate Rob found himself pursuing a career in acting. Koebel can be seen not only on the small screen but also in major motion pictures. In a short 4 months he has racked up a impressive list of screen credits playing roles from a reporter to a 1700's war solider.Rob earned his degree in Journalism from the University of Florida. In his free time he enjoys the beach, reading, movies, traveling and can usually be found cheering on the Florida Gators! Show less «
