Nick Samson is an American musician and actor born and raised in the east side suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio to parents Sean Samson and Sharon (LaPore). Nick began his career influenced by his father Sean, an accomplished drummer and vocalist, who exposed Nick to an array of local musicians and styles of music at a very early age.Upon graduating high school, Nick attended John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. After a year and a half, he transferred to The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where he earned his degree in English in December 2015. As one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country, Columbus introduced Nick to artists of all disciplines.In a year that saw him developing as a solo recording artist under his project La Poré, 2017 also marked the beginning of Nick's acting career. Nick is known for his remarkable range, morphing charm, humor, menace, and impeccable nonverbal communication. Invited by fellow actor and collaborator Frank Gallo ("Decoy," 2020), Nick attended an audition for Columbus Civic Theatre's January 2017 production of "The Taming of the Shrew," where he performed the role of Gremio. Nick followed up this performance in August 2017 performing in Eclipse Theatre Company's production of John Robin Baitz's high stakes drama, "The Paris Letter." It was also the play's debut production in the state of Ohio. In June 2018, Nick joined Eclipse Theatre Company once again to perform the role of Tennessee Williams in Michael Aman's "Glass." The performance was on display at that summer's Regional OCTA Festival at Kenyon College, where Nick won the event's highest acting award. The production then moved on to compete at the state competition in Columbus, Ohio.In March 2019, Nick was cast as Romeo in Actors' Theatre of Columbus' production of Shakespeare's, "Romeo and Juliet" as part of their annual Shakespeare in the Park summer series. In 2019, Nick began transitioning to film and commercial work, with notable appearances with The Toledo Blade, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, and Elevator Brewing Company. Prior to his move to Los Angeles, Nick co wrote, produced, and directed the short film "Diner," and will also be featured in the feature length film "Poser" produced by Loose Films. Both projects are slated for release in 2021. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Nick began studying under acclaimed acting coach Marjorie Ballentine at the Marjorie Ballentine Studio. Later this year, Nick will also star in Catherine Sweeney's film, "A Thief Named Earnest" and Charlie Crook's, "Table for Two," as well as lead support in Nolan Trifunovic's, "The Other." Show less «
