Composer, songwriter, guitarist, author and musician, educated at Harvard College. He was a musician with folk music groups and joined ASCAP in 1964. His popular-music compositions include "Highway 301 Blues", "Mitch's Waltz", "While I'm Asking Nice", and "Miss Subways Stomp".
