Marnitz will soon be seen portraying "Pieter", an Afrikaans rebel, in the upcoming Lionsgate film, Thula!, directed by Los Angeles-based writer and director Nerina de Jager.Other recent film credits include Thandi Brewer's The Chemo Club and A tous les vents du Ciel (Twisting Fate) directed by oscar-winning producer Christophe Lioud. Here; Marnitz plays opposite French actress Noémie Merlant. Marnitz also formed part of the theatre production Sing Jy van Bomme, directed by Gerrit Schoonhoven, which was performed at the US Woordfees 2017.During his four years of training in Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town, where he played roles varying in style from Shakespeare, to Oscar Wilde and George Büchner, Marnitz travelled to Bucharest, Romania; where he performed in a workshopped play (Re)membered as part of the UNESCO World Festival of Theatre Schools. His commitment to community theatre had him involved in the Clanwilliam Community Arts Project and also Arepp: Theatre for Life, who's primary focus is developing resilient youth. As part of the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival (IDGTF) his one-man show, Bird, received a nomination for Best Conceptualisation and Design. The play was directed by Gerrit Schoonhoven and later translated into Afrikaans as part of the Krêkvars Theatre Festival in 2015.Television credits include a variety of commercials; and a lead role in Ngempela for SABC 1, and appearances in Pandjieswinkel-stories and Bloedbroers for KykNet.Marnitz is also the owner of MVD Entertainment, where he produce theatre shows and tutor drama workshops privately.
