With his background in graphic design and sculpture, it's no surprise that once Mark took his first cake decorating class in 2006, he was hooked. From concept to final design, planning and execution - his concept sketches are true representations of the final cakes. Within just a few years his cake designs had become internet sensations via social media and a wide range of cake blogs. Being self-taught and learning from his failures, he is a well-rounded food artist utilizing various edible mediums creating intricately detailed and hyper-realistic edible sculptures.He has appeared on Food Network's Cake Challenge-Awesome '80s cake episode, winning Sugar Dome in The Wonderful World of Dr. Seuss episode and placed third on season three of Halloween Wars. He has also competed on the Premiere season of Halloween Wars - Hayride of Horror in 2017. In December, 2018, he appeared on the season premiere of Holiday Wars. His most recent appearances are on the 2020 Spring - Bunnies episode of the Big Bake Canada and was a finalist in Season 2 of Holiday Gingerbread Showdown in 2019. His most recent appearance has been on Disney+ Foodtastic - Beauty and the Beast: Meet Belle's Best Friend in 2021. He also has placed and medaled in various Cake shows/Expos across the country. Mark's work has been published in Cake Central magazine, August 2011, September 2011, Cake Masters magazine, May 2014, and featured in American Cake Decorating magazine, March 2014, and most recently featured on Michigan State University - College of Arts & Letters Newsletter, May, 2019.Mark also is a representative with Grex Airbrush and passes his expertise in online tutorials, and hands classes. He has taught and participated in live challenges at national shows across the country and is eager to continue to learn from the best and share his knowledge with others. He also generously donates his time for, Icing Smiles, a non-profit charity organization which provides dream cakes for families with children who have a terminal illness. Show less «
