Katherine is currently the Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Department and an Associate Theatre Professor at Fo Guang College Manila, the fifth member of Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium and the pioneer Humanistic Buddhist College in the Philippines, which is open to students of all faiths willing to learn and to mutually respect one another's custom, culture, and religion. She is also a Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines in 2009 and a Candidate Graduate of Master of Arts in Theater Arts from the same university. In 2013-2015, her research and experience evolved through theater curriculum building as the Theater Department Head and Curriculum Head in Universal School (Jakarta). Alongside with that, she was volunteering as a theater, dance and art educator for The Umbrella of Wisdom, a Non-Government Organization, who reaches out to Indonesian locals wherein she has more opportunities to know more of their cultures. Her theater credits in the Philippines include directing for: Riley Palanca's Little Black Book; Nicolas Pichay's Pangulo Naming Mahal for the UP Repertory Company; Pulses (Rerun) at The Library; Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero's Half an Hour in a Convent for UP Dulaang Laboratoryo's Ermita Quartet; Arlo de Guzman's Fistfull of Sands for CCP's Virgin LabFest VI. She was also given the opportunity to be the Assistant Director for Film, UP DECL's Screen: Macbeth directed by Dr. Anton Juan, Jr.; Associate Director, Dulaang UP's Maria Stuart directed by Prof. Emeritus Antonio Mabesa; Assistant Director and Dramaturge, Dulaang UP's Noli the Opera (2011) directed by Alexander Cortez. Her first experience as a dramturg was in Orosman at Zafira in 2008, as guided by her mentor, Dr. Sir Anril P. Tiatco. This experience was followed by a lot of challenging and exciting dramaturgical projects such as the 71st UAAP Opening in 2008, Bertolt Brecht's The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui, 110 The Musical, and other plays, TV documentary scripts, and films in an out of the university. She has been acting on stage since her kindergarten years at the University of the Philippines Integrated School as part of Teatro Munti until she has grown as an artist-teacher. Her past productions as an actor includes: Theatre Exchange Company (Iloilo), Teodora as Teodora; CinemaOne Originals' Anatomiya ng Korupsyon; Cinemalaya's Requieme; CCP's Virgin LabFest VII Mga Lobo Tulad ng Buwan as Enrequetta; Dulaang Laboratoryo's Wanted a Chaperon as Dona Dolores; Dulaan UP's Orosman at Zafira as Hermana Bale; Rody Vera's Unang Aswang as Baboy Ramo; World Theatre Project's ThreePenny Opera as Bob the saw, to name a few.It has been four years since she has last performed on the Dulaang UP stage and it's always feels good to be home.Katherine is currently the Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Department and an Associate Theatre Professor at Fo Guang College Manila, the fifth member of Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium and the pioneer Humanistic Buddhist College in the Philippines, which is open to students of all faiths willing to learn and to mutually respect one another's custom, culture, and religion.
