Katie was born in Sydney in 1989 but grew up in Hobart, Tasmania. She graduated from Sydney Theatre School's Diploma of Arts (Acting) in 2008. She co-founded Loud Mouth Theatre Co, a Tasmanian based independent theatre company, which was established in 2013 with fellow actors Maeve Mhairi MacGregor and Campbell McKenzie.
