Josef won the silver medal in the men's single sculls competition at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Hasenohrl went on to win the Diamond Challenge Sculls event at the Henley Royal Regatta the following year. Josef was killed in combat at age 29 on March 13, 1945 while serving in the Wehrmacht armed forces in Luxembourg at the end of World War II. Show less «
