Joel Ross was a DJ with Yorkshire Coast Radio, Viking FM and Key 103 (the latter two with performing partner Jason King, known as JK) and then joined BBC Radio 1, where the pair presented two weekend shows, before taking over weekday earlies and the UK Top 40. As a duo they have won numerous awards, including a Sony for Best Breakfast Show.
