Known Associates Entertainment's Chairman, Joel Chikapa Phiri, is a well-known film producer and entrepreneur who has produced ground-breaking local and international films in Africa, Europe and the USA, with a career spanning over 30 years. Some of the projects he has either produced, co- or executive produced include Ingrid's Sinclair's "FLAME", which was Officially Selected for the Cannes Film Festival "Director's Fortnight" in 1996; Ramadan Suleman's "FOOLS", Jean Pierre Bekolo's "ARISTOTLE'S PLOT", Framework International's "KINI & ADAMS", directed by Idrissa Ouedraego, (selected for Official Competition of the Cannes Film Festival in 1997); "FORGIVENESS", (Lorcano, 2004), "MONSIEUR N" (Berlin, Panorama Competition, 2003), "THE FLYER" by Revel Fox (Locarno, La Piazza Grand, 2005) "CRAZY MONKEY: STRAIGHT OUTTA BENONI" by Trevor Clarence (2005) and "WAH-WAH" by Richard E Grant (Edinburgh, Opening Night, 2005).Joel has served as a member on numerous industry boards, is a founding member of the Zimbabwe International Film Festival Trust and was Chairperson of the Sithengi Film and Television Market (2003 - 2005).
