Hicham Benkirane is founder and CEO of HBK Film Company, LLC (aka HBK F.C.). The company just produced its first feature film, Good Thief, and has a robust slate of film projects in the works, some nearing production with such high profile directors as Pierre Morel (Taken) and Deon Taylor (Fatale). HBK F.C. has a partnership with Belga Films, the leading independent distributor in Benelux, on a number of these projects. Prior to launching HBK F.C., Hicham held a first-look deal with producer Nigel Sinclair (End of Watch, Rush) at White Horse Pictures. Before that, Hicham launched Vigilante Entertainment to option & develop graphic novels. Writers & directors he developed projects with include: John Ridley (Academy Award winner 12 Years A Slave), Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer) and Joe Dante (Gremlins).Hicham started his film career at ICM in New York, and has held a few positions within the industry since then. He was the official representative of the Moroccan Film Commission, as well as the head of development for French graphic novel publisher Humanoids, where he set up properties with the likes of Gale Anne Hurd ("The Walking Dead") and Alexandra Milchan (The Wolf of Wall Street).
