Biography After a decade in Los Angeles in the 1990's modeling, acting(commercials/films), producing, Gary Metivier found himself at night school at UCLA pursuing television news.Gary spent the next 25 years anchoring newscasts in LA (West Side News), Oklahoma/ Texas (KTEN NBC), Reno (KRNV NBC) before finding a more permanent home for the next 20 years as main anchor of three newscasts a day in Davenport/Moline (KWQC NBC) (a couple of hours from Chicago). Gary earned 3 Emmys (Mid-America), 12 Emmy Nominations, 3 Edward R. Murrow awards (regional) and dozens of state and regional awards for writing, hosting and producing. He was inducted into the Emmy Silver Circle (aka Emmy Hall of Fame) in 2019. Among his highlights-Gary dedicated an Emmy to his mom (mother of 12) and was invited for an inclusive interview at the White House with President Obama in 2012.Following his life passion to return to film/theater/TV (non-news), Gary signed-off after a 20 year run and started his own production company-Metivier Media. Along with his web-based limited series, commercials, YouTube award-winning stories and podcast (distributed through dozens of radio stations and hundreds of digital sites via Regional Media), Gary recently began submitting for acting roles.Gary joined the cast of Colleen Krantz' Pink Spear Productions for a television series, Complete Bull, now in post-production. Gary is working on a feature film, Hyde Out, written and directed by Matt Cichella.
