Born on September 24th in Manhattan, Garett was raised in Queens, New York. A cum laude graduate of Adelphi University (Garden City, NY) with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. in Communications), he studied film production, editing, journalism, and media studies. He also graduated with a Minor in African-American Studies.It was in college that he produced and wrote short films such as Venom, Ignoring the Ignorance, and Intersection. He also acted in many black box theater plays with the performing arts department and decided to pursue acting after graduation.Garett landed and starred in lead roles in the Off-Broadway plays, Destiny (role of Antony) and On the Hilltop (role of Kevin) in Manhattan. He's performed crime dramatizations/reenactments for the Maury Povich Show in New York and America's Most Wanted in Florida. He also landed the role as Andrew Flemings in the critically acclaimed short film, Shore Thing, winner of Best Suspense Short at the New York International Film Festival.His most recent work includes the supporting role of Miguel "Da Mic Assassin" in Miami's hit comedy independent film, Do It In Post, the role of Bruce Madden in Derrick J. Johnson's Vow: White Knights (2017), and a role as a Julian Royo's hitman in Fox's 24:Legacy (2017). He has also been casted and is filming a role in Investigation Discovery's Homicide Hunter (2017).He directed, casted, and starred in his first short film/music video entitled, "How Bout Dat" (2017).
