Dori Book was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is part of a very artistic family and demonstrated her love for acting and music at a very young age.At approximately 8 years old, she would write scripts for her and her friends to act out - her best friends mother would record this with the video camera. It was no surprise when she started acting in theater productions at the age of 15. At the end of 2015, Dori experienced an unexpected change in her life which left her unemployed for quite some time. The silver lining was that it gave her the perfect opportunity to open a whole new chapter in her life, which was to start acting in film and television. This has changed her life substantially and has also opened many doors. She has taken multiple acting classes to better herself as an actor, and plans to take many more.As well as an being an actor, Dori is an accomplished musician who has played the piano for 32 years as well as the guitar for 22 years. She started singing and taking piano lessons at age 5, and along the way, discovered that she could play by ear. She then started teaching herself the guitar at age 15 with a chord book her Grandfather had given her. There was no need for her to learn how to read guitar music as she could listen to something and play it be it strumming, or picking. She is very thankful that she has the ability to do this. Music has always been therapy for Dori, so she plays and sings for 1-2 hours a day at least 4 times per week. She has written multiple originals and plans to get them recorded in the near future.
