Prior to Denine Rochelle entering into the entertainment industry as an actress in film, television and theater, she was a very successful and talented hairstylist. In June of 1985, she won a scholarship to Orangeburg Beauty School after entering an essay contest through a local radio station. She knew nothing about the hair care industry at the time, but she developed an immediate love for it and in time became one of the top five stylists in her city. After opening her salon, Professional Hair Performance, in 1991, she continued to hone her craft by studying styling and coloring techniques. She later earned a degree as a cosmetology instructor and in the year 2000 opened Platinum Shear School of Cosmetology. Serving as educator for two beauty companies and teaching Continuing Education for licensed cosmetologists in the state of South Carolina are some additional accomplishments. In the years that followed, Denine Rochelle developed a keen interest and sharp eye for editorial photography. Some of her work has been featured in Queen Size Magazine, Blu Magazine, BB Magazine, Prolific Magazine and Olanquan Fashion Magazine. Her work behind camera, including some television shows, nurtured a childhood dream of performing before the camera. Growing up, she spent hours in the mirror imitating her favorite television characters. As with her other successes, Denine Rochelle made that long-held dream a reality by performing on stage, television, and films. She will appear as Uloman Curry-Walker in an upcoming episode of Fatal Attraction on TV One. Other appearance include Mr. Mercedes, the short film "Abducted," The Janie Sloan Show, commercials, and theatrical stage plays.Denine Rochelle is the daughter of Raymond J. Cooper and Janie Cooper-Smith. She has been married to Ret. Navy Officer John Hammonds for 24 years and they have one daughter, Jada Hammonds. Show less «
