Chris Cowden is a Métis Canadian writer/director known for the drama "Moments in Spacetime" starring John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones) and for working on AMC's "Hell on Wheels". Cowden graduated from Harvard University with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. In 2020, Cowden's "Moments in Spacetime" won the Remi Award for Best Foreign Feature Film at the 53rd WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. Cowden used the proceeds from his MTV Award winning film "Max Caliber Hawaii P.I." to start an indigenous scholarship which raises thousands of dollars each year for Métis students attending post-secondary education. In a television interview, John Rhys-Davies described Cowden as "a remarkably good director...If you've got a spare fifty-dollar bill, I'd put that on him being one of the leading Canadian directors in a few years' time."
