A.W. "Tony" Scott began screenwriting in 2012 after a successful career as a Strategy and Executive Search Consultant, and as a Venture Capital Investor in technology and internet/new media companies around the world, with multiple exits through IPOs and acquisitions.Tony attended and completed the UCLA Graduate Film School's Professional Screenwriting and Television Writing Programs from 2012 - 2015. While in the programs, he optioned two screenplays. His screenplay "The House" won the 2014 - 2015 Advanced Screenplay Competition at UCLA, and now has a commitment for full funding and is expected to go into production in 2019. Tony's first screenplay, "At Last", has won or placed as a finalist in multiple screenplay competitions, and four other screenplays and two television pilots have won awards in screenwriting competitions.In 2014 Tony co-founded Broadvision. Broadvision's first feature movie, "Grey Lady", produced in association with Beacon Pictures and starring Eric Dane and Natalie Zea, was released theatrically in 25 theaters in 12 major cities on April 28, 2017. Broadvision drove the theatrical release in the United States and China, with Lionsgate in the rest of the world. Tony led the marketing and PR strategies for the movie, with an emphasis on social media marketing.Born in New Orleans, Tony grew up in Mississippi and worked as a jazz/funk/R&B musician to help pay his way through college and grad school. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and a MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.In addition to Silicon Valley and Los Angeles, Tony has lived and worked in Beijing, Chicago, London, Napa, and Tokyo. He has basic conversational language capabilities in Mandarin Chinese.
