Arvin Combs is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas, Tx., where he lives today with his wife Sabrina. Although he grew up with a deep interest in movies and live theatre performance, he also developed an early childhood love of playing football. Unfortunately, Texas High School football was largely a year round activity leaving no time to explore acting, so acting would have to wait.He went on to attend West Point, achieving a very respectable record; however, the post-Vietnam state of the military was very poor. So after two full years at the academy, he opted for a civilian path transferring to the University of North Texas where he completed his education with a degree in accounting. From there he went on to get his CPA and move into an accounting career beginning with "The Big 4". It was not particularly exciting; but it paid the bills!Still, the interest in acting never waned and finally, on a challenge from his daughter Rebecca, with no formal acting training he auditioned and was cast in a major role for a stage production of Witness for The Prosecution. The theatre bug had bitten and in a short period of time he experienced encouraging success in Dallas theatre with performances in productions including Moon Over Buffalo; Crimes of the Heart, The Diary of Anne Frank; a DFW Column Award nomination for "Best Actor In a Play" for Murder On the Nile and a regional premier of The Grapes of Wrath at Watertower Theatre (Equity). And today he's enjoying the challenge of transferring his love of theatre to film. It remains a fun and exhilarating journey! Show less «
