Anthony David Harwood was born on June 22, 1979 in Perth, Western Australia to Derice and Dennis Harwood. After studying ballet for several years, Anthony appeared in his first musical, "The Sound of Music" at His Majesty's Theatre as well as the award winning stage drama "Voyager's Wake" (1996).He received Drama degrees from both Edith Cowan and Curtin Universities, the prior being integrated into the renowned West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. During this time, Anthony appeared in supporting roles in numerous productions including Eugene in "Grease" and Amos Hart (Mr Cellophane) in "Chicago" at the Regal Theatre.He formed The West Australian SP Theatre Company in 2004; the aim being to provide a platform for talented young actors to perform in Perth's professional venues.Landing a regular role on Irish/Australian co-production "Foreign Exchange" paved the way toward a leading role on the television drama "Streetsmartz" (2005) where, at 25, he portrayed 16 year old Rick Martino for three seasons. With this and two successful productions under his theatre company's banner: Ben Elton's "Popcorn" and "Pageant: the Musical", Anthony relocated to London.Receiving a Masters in Performance from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2010, Anthony has gone on to perform in the inaugural production at the Saint James Theatre, the first new West End theatre to be built in 30 years. He has worked with notable directors including Emmy award winning Tom Kuntz, Mike Long, Jonathan Firth, Peter Lydon and Luke Snellin.Anthony has also published several novels. Show less «
