Abigail was born in Tampa, Florida to business owners Michelle and Eric Shapiro. She attended the Community Montessori School from two years old up until seventh grade. When she was 6 years old, she joined an all-girls singing and dancing ensemble called Entertainment Revue which performed across the state of Florida. At 12 years old, after her first professional audition, she booked the role of Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical at Madison Square Garden and moved to NYC thus began her professional career.Her and her sister, Milly Shapiro, after their Broadway debuts, created a sister-duo cabaret, which they called "The Shapiro Sisters." They were the first minors to write and perform their own show at 54 Below in NYC.When she was 14 years old she auditioned for an ensemble role in an Off Broadway show, Liberty: A Monumental New Musical. The creative team was so impressed with her audition they asked her to audition for the leading role: Liberty, a role intended to be portrayed by an adult. She landed the lead role and the creative team rewrote the title role of Liberty for her to play.Throughout high school she trained intensely in dance at the Joffrey Ballet School. She also trained and continues to improve her singing voice with Laura Bergquist. After she graduated high school, she attended Fordham University as a theatre major on the performance track. She is currently in her sophomore year but on a leave of absence due to a role TBA.In her free time, she works on and studies fitness, nutrition and mindfulness.
